We support internships for people with Down syndrome at Many Mornings
This year, we put on our mismatched socks a bit earlier! We are proud to support the professional internship programme for individuals with Down syndrome at Many Mornings under the slogan "Don't judge, get to know!" People with Down syndrome often face barriers in the job market. Many Mornings aims to showcase their potential, individuality, and determination.
From March 12 to 21, interns are working at Many Mornings sales kiosks in seven Polish cities. Supported by mentors, they assist customers, manage displays, and develop new skills. This is not only an opportunity for their growth but also a chance for us to get to know them better and see how well they perform!
An action that brings people together
The most valuable experience is the time spent together. It's not only a form of real support for people with disabilities but also an opportunity to get to know them better. By showing interest and visiting our kiosks, interns gain a sense of well-spent days, and customers gain valuable insight and a new perspective
What was our role?
Together with experts from WTZ Przyjaciele (Friends Occupational Therapy Workshop), we prepared the kiosk staff to collaborate with the interns - how to support them, communicate, and respond in various situations. Through a series of webinars, we also debunked harmful myths, highlighted the potential of individuals with Down syndrome, and emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the workplace. For the interns, we developed clear instructions outlining work principles.
How can you participate?
- Visit a Many Mornings kiosk between March 12–21
- Meet the interns, give them a high-five, and see them in action!
- Make a purchase and receive a gift - a limited-edition pair of socks
- 21% of your purchase value will go to Fundacja Oczami Brata (Brother's Eyes Foundation
The locations and schedules of the interns' work are available here
Thanks to your visit, the interns gain a sense of well-spent days, and you gain valuable experience and a new perspective.
Remember, March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day!
The date is not coincidental, as it symbolizes the extra third chromosome in the 21st pair. On this day, we draw attention to individuals with Down syndrome and their participation in social life, and we can express solidarity with them by wearing... colorful, mismatched socks :)
Why socks? The shape of a chromosome is humorously compared to the shape of a sock, which inspired World Down Syndrome Day to create the wonderful "Lots of Socks" campaign. Through this simple gesture, we show our solidarity and support for individuals with Down syndrome.
So, on March 21, put on mismatched and colorful socks, perhaps from Many Mornings. Take a photo and post it on your social media—use the tags: #DzieńKolorowychSkarpetek #LotsOfSocks #ŚwiatowyDzieńZespołuDowna #WorldDownSyndromeDay. Encourage your friends, acquaintances, and especially colleagues to join the action.
Put on colorful socks and join us! ❤️
